New energy is still a relatively new industry in Malaysia, said Ee Zhi Yin, However, I believe that as energy shortages continue to worsen, it will play a vital role in the future.

Though graduated with a CGPA of 3.77, Ee Zhi Yins journey at XMUM was not easy at the beginning. Suffering from the difficulty in interpersonal communication, she once considered giving up on pursuing further education.

It is friends and badminton that have saved her. At Badminton Club, she made friends from different programmes and learnt how to manage challenges. She also tried to befriend her classmates, socializing with people to gain energy.

Fully adapted to university life, Ee Zhi Yin found her academic life enjoyable. In 2021, she joined the group of Dr. Vincent Woon Kok Sin as a research assistant, participating in research regarding environmental management.

It was a turning point in my life, Ee Zhi Yin recalled, My responsibilities included collecting environmental management policies and environmental reports from three countries, making analysis and future sights.

My supervisor and seniors not only imparted academic knowledge but showed genuine concern for my personal problems. I am deeply grateful to them for making me able to enjoy campus life.

When asked about the secret of raking top, Ee Zhi Yin emphasized the importance of the fundamentals and seeking help. No matter what we study, the primary task is to consolidate the basics, shared Ee Zhi Yin, So that we can provide right answers no matter how exam questions vary.

Additionally, don’t hesitate to seek advice from lecturers - that will enhance your understanding of subsequent chapters and maximize what you have learnt.

Looking ahead, Ee Zhi Yin plans to pursue her master's degree at Xiamen University to explore the application of new energy in technologies, and join a professional team for the R&D of new energy technologies after graduation.

"I never consider myself better than the others. I just adhere to my dreams and and work hard. I firmly believe that even without talent, I can learn anything with endeavor."

"Remember that progress may be slow, but it never means we are stagnant. With perseverance, you can learn everything and achieve what you want."
