Mr. Chow Quee Iee was invited by the School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia, to deliver a guest lecture for the course Investment taught by Dr. Tan Yeng May on 22nd May. Mr. Chow is someone who had a front-row seat during the development of the Malaysian capital markets from the late 1980s to the early 2020s. During the guest lecture, he shared a candid insight into the life of an analyst (sell-side, buy-side, a pseudo economist, and quant & digital). With over 35 years of experience and exposure to various markets in Asia Pacific ex-Japan, Mr. Chow provided valuable knowledge gained from his career. Mr. Chow highlighted the potential pitfalls and what to watch out for in the investment world for those who wish to embark on this grueling but perhaps rewarding journey.

Guest lecturer brief bio: Mr. Chow Quee Iee, with more than 35 years of experience in investment research, has served in various capacities in the stockbroking and asset management industry. Mr. Chow holds a First Class (Hons) Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and MBA majoring in Finance from University of Malaya.
