XMUM launched the postgraduate lounge, with Prof. Dr. Wang Hui-Qiong, Assistant President of XMUM, officiating the opening ceremony. Thirty-eight academicians, administrative personnel, and postgraduate students were present for the launch on the 10th of August 2022 at 3 pm. In the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Wang Hui-Qiong welcomed all postgraduate students and staff to utilise the space for their work-related meetings, activities, and discussions. She also announced the appointment of Dr. Khairun Nisa Binti Mihat as the Research and Postgraduate Centre (RPC) manager starting on the 11th of August 2022.

The postgraduate lounge, located at A2#113, is a room reserved for the postgraduate community. This space can also be a personal space for postgraduate students to hang out between lab sessions and classes. On top of this, XMUM postgraduate students can meet at the postgraduate lounge to discuss the possibility of organising engaging and networking events and activities in near future. The postgraduate lounge will also serve as the main activity room for the XMUM Postgraduate Student Council (to be established). The postgraduate lounge offers a vibrant environment to enhance students’ university experience and attract them to complete their postgraduate studies at XMUM.

The postgraduate community can submit their booking request at least two days before the postgraduate lounge usage day to psu@xmu.edu.my.
