Award Ceremony for the 2nd China-Malaysia Young Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Held Online

The Award Ceremony for the Second China-Malaysia Young Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held online on 14th May 2022. His Excellency Ouyang Yujing, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Malaysia, attended the Ceremony as the guest-of-honour.

This ceremony was jointly organized by Xiamen University Malaysia, the Platform for China-Malaysia Joint Research and Demonstration of Solid State Lighting Technology, the Promotion Association of Global Youth Innovation Leaders Community (PILC), TusStar (Malaysia), and the Koperasi Graduan Muda Kebangsaan Berhad (KoGRAD). It aimed to celebrate the winners of the Second China-Malaysia Young Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition which was held in July 2021, and to promote the upcoming 8th China International College Students’ “Internet +” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

In his speech, H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing emphasized the importance of youth innovation and entrepreneurship in supporting Malaysian government’s effort to promote the country's economic transformation. He encouraged this competition to serve as a platform for showcasing outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship projects by university students in Malaysia. He also congratulated the competition participants for their impressive performance and expected to see more exchange and collaboration between students of China and Malaysia in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Wang Ruifang, the President of Xiamen University Malaysia, expressed his sincere hope that this competition would spark the interest of more students in innovation and entrepreneurship and facilitate the exchange and cooperation between youths in Malaysian and China in this area.

During the ceremony, four teams were selected among the competition’s winners to present their project proposals. These 4 teams came from Xiamen University Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Petronas and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman.
