Innovation Talk Series #13 was held by XMUM Innovation Center on 2 October 2019. Flora Liu Kexin and Gary Mao Yuan, both entrepreneurs with in-depth knowledge of various industries, shared their experiences on entrepreneurship and postgraduate application as guest speakers. A mini workshop centering entrepreneurship and innovation was then organized on 5 October to further enhance students’ understanding of this subject.

As the founder of an education start-up, Flora Liu Kexin shared her understanding of pursuing entrepreneurship - which has been her biggest passion, and how she founded the company to help students see the world from a clearer viewpoint, uncover their inner potential, and gain admission into their dream schools.

Gary Mao Yuan, a serial entrepreneur currently living between US, China, and India, talked about the importance of teamwork during his speech: “If you want to go fast you go on your own, but if you want to go far, go with a team.” An alumnus of Stanford University, Gary has built up rich experience in hospitality and mobile gaming industry after leaving McKinsey. According to Gary, good team work can make great contribution to the success of the company.
