In collaboration with 15 doctors and nurses from Pusat Darah Negara (National Blood Centre), XMUM First Aid Society successfully organized a blood donation event on 2 July 2019.

“The purpose of the event is to make sure that there is enough blood supply for those in need,” said Lam Xin Qi, one of the event organizers.

Before the donation, several screening measures and a quick blood test were taken to obtain donors’ health information. All the donors received a certificate of appreciation provided by Pusat Darah Negara, as well as refreshments and souvenirs sponsored by MyNews, the Alley, Group MRMS, Seventh, etc.

The event achieved a huge success with an overwhelming positive response from the donors. “From this event, I realized that there is no greater joy than saving a life! Also, I was impressed by all of the blood donors because they looked pleasant during the blood donation. This was really an inspiration for those who haven't tried to donate blood yet!” said Tai Wen Ching, a second-year Traditional Chinese Medicine student.

“Very interesting event organized by the first aid society. The small bag of blood I donated can actually save lives of others. Knowing that I can help those who are in need is a wonderful experience. Hope to see more blood donation events in the future,” said Kok Zer Hoong, a third-year Finance student.
