During 27-28 November 2021, the Department of Journalism and Advertising, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) hosted the International Conference on Media Science and Digital Communication (MSDC 2021) virtually. Over 80 participants from 25 countries attended and presented their research papers at the Conference.

Prof. Wang Ruifang, the President of XMUM, delivered the welcome address to all the participants. This was followed by a speech by Prof. Wang Hui-qiong, the Director of XMUM Research Management Center.

Dr. Wang Changsong from XMUM, Prof. Jamilah Ahmad from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Dr. Elliot Pill from Cardiff University, and Prof. Azizul Halim Yahya from Universiti Teknologi MARA gave speeches as the keynote speakers. 

From post-pandemic communications to technological innovation, media and communication play an integrative role in the sustainable and progressive development of human society. Initiated by Associate Professor Dr. Wang Changsong, the Head of XMUM Department of Journalism and Advertising, this Conference aims to bring together leading scientists, scholars and researchers to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of media science and digital communication.

This event forms part of the Centenary Celebration of Xiamen University, as well as the 5th Anniversary of XMUM.
