2nd XMUM Cup Physics Competition Successfully Held


The Second XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary Schools was held on 8 September 2021, with 685 participants from 39 secondary schools across the country.

The top five studentsare Ku Yu Cong from Chong Hwa Independent High School Kuala Lumpur, Harry Lau Jun Xian from Foon Yew High School Johor Bahru, How Yen Qi from Pay Fong Middle School Melacca, Samuel Koh Qi En from Sabah Chinese High School, and Yeo Guan Wei from Chung Hua Independent High School Klang.

In addition to the cash prizes sponsored by World Scientific Publishing, the top five students have been offered full scholarships for their first year of study if they enrol in the Physics or Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Programme of Xiamen University Malaysia.  

Chong Hwa Independent High School, Kuala Lumpur scored the highest in the group category and won the “XMUM cup”.

The competition questions included interactive virtual experiment, which requires students to achieve the objective of the experiment by operating the virtual equipment.

Initiated in 2020 by XMUM Department of Physics, this competition aimsto encourage students to explore the world of physics and think logically and scientifically.
