From 17 to 20 December 2019, Prof. Ren Bin, Deputy Dean of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University (XMU) paid a visit to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), to share postgraduate information and research opportunities with students and faculty from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, XMUM.

Beginning with an introduction to College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Prof. Ren Bin briefed about the opportunities of postgraduate studies at XMU. According to Prof. Ren, currently there are 172 faculty members in the College, 8 of which are Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Scholarships - including Chinese Government Scholarship and Tan Kah Kee Scholarship - will be awarded to qualified students who wish to pursue their studies at XMU. To know more about XMU, students are encouraged to join the 2 weeks Summer camp jointly organized by XMU and XMUM.
Prof. Ren also shared information on the research opportunities offered by XMU for XMUM faculty members. As one of the leading research centers in chemical engineering, the College hosts several national and provincial research platforms offering state-of-the-art research facilities to support cutting-edge research. It has also made strategic plans to move to emerging interdisciplinary areas that cross boundaries with materials, biological, energy, and environmental sciences, which will provide more opportunities for researchers.
During this visit, Prof. Ren met up with XMUM Assistant President, Dr. Zhang Ying, and as well as the university management team to exchange information on the administrative practices and discuss potential research collaborations.
