On 16 January 2024, a handover ceremony was held at the A3 Library - Robotic Lab to mark the donation of two mobile robots from CIBC Technology Sdn. Bhd. to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM).

The robots were officially received by XMUM Vice President, Associate Professor Zhang Ying, on behalf of the university, from Ms. Janice Leow Li Hwa, Managing Director of CIBC Technology Sdn. Bhd.

Ms. Janice Leow expressed her honor in collaborating with XMUM to advance innovation in robotics. She highlighted the importance of industry-academia partnerships and expressed hope that both parties would work together to further optimize the robots, leveraging their combined expertise to enhance performance and functionality.

Assoc. Prof. Zhang Ying emphasized XMUM’s commitment to impactful and industry-relevant research. She affirmed that the partnership with CIBC Technology would strengthen collaborative efforts in advancing robotics research and innovation, paving the way for future breakthroughs in the field.
