Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has become the latest university to join CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, positioning students of Finance Programme well to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter, one of the most respected and recognized finance & investment credentials in the world.

Under this affiliation, the Finance Programme of XMUM has been acknowledged as incorporating over 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct within the programme. With a curriculum more closely tied to professional practice, XMUM will be able to better prepare students to sit for the CFA exams. The University is also eligible to receive a limited number of CFA Program Student Scholarships each year.

Up till now, only 16 Malaysia higher education institutions have joined the CFA University Affiliation Program, including University of Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia, University of Nottingham Malaysia, Monash University Malaysia, etc.

“Programmes offered by XMUM School of Economics and Management (SEM) are continuously reviewed to ensure that they are in line with the highest industry standards,” said Prof. Chen Yan, Dean of SEM, “I believe that the CFA affiliation will considerably increase Finance Programme’s value for students.”

Starting in 2016, the Finance Programme of Xiamen University Malaysia equips graduates with sound theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in banking and finance. Armed with a sense of professionalism and a strong belief in ethical standards of practice, graduates are empowered to operate efficiently and effectively in the financial markets by applying their skills to build wealth for individuals and institutions.
