The Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (MAT) welcomed the students of 2021/09 intake with a heartwarming online party on 2 October 2021.

The event started with an opening speech by the Programme Coordinator, Prof. Teo Lee Peng, followed by the MAT Student Council Presidium, Liew Yi Qing and Li Chengyi.

Then came the time for online games. All participants were asked to switch on their webcams and engage in the games. The first two games, “This or That” and “Never have I ever…”, were instructed by a game master, while the third one was a draw-and-guess game on gartic.io.

The Student Council has put in much effort to prepare this party and make it memorable. The Department hopes that the event may help students develop their social network and adapt to university life.
