Dr. Wang Changsong Publishes in Media Culture & Society, a SSCI Tier 1 Journal
2021-10-01The Research Management Center congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wang Changsong (Head of XMUM Departments of Journalism & Advertising) for his recent publication in Media Culture & Society, a Tier 1 SSCI journal with an impact factor of 3.272, as the first and corresponding author.
The publication, entitled “Film Distribution by Video Streaming Platforms Across Southeast Asia During COVID-19”, seeks to examine the changing dynamic of film distribution through video streaming in the Southeast Asia regions, as COVID-19 pandemic has caused an accelerated shift to streaming media platforms across Southeast Asia countries. Through reviewing trade and business press as well as conducting interviews, this paper attempts to identify and present areas of regional change and regional players which deserve systematic discussion and analysis.

| Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wang Changsong is currently the Head of Departments in Journalism and Advertising, as well as the Director of Center for ASEAN and Chinese Screen Studies. Dr. Wang holds a PhD in Film and Broadcasting from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has served as a jury member and a programmer for several international film festivals held in China and Malaysia. His research interests include contemporary film theory and practice and media and cultural theory. |
