XMUM welcomed two distinguished guests from Malaysia Expatriate Talent Service Centre (MYXpats Centre) in the afternoon of 9 January 2018.

Mr. Sivakumeren A Narayanan, the Executive Director of MYXpats Center, and Mr. Tan Keat Meng toured the campus and met with the university’s top management team.

XMUM President Wang Ruifang expressed his warm welcome and thanked Mr. Narayanan for the efficient services provided by MYXpats. “We are greatly impressed by the high efficiency of Expatriate Services Division (ESD) online application system and deeply appreciate the support we have received from MYXpats,” said President Wang.

Ms. Li Xiaowen then briefed the guests on the current development progress of XMUM, and the challenges that the university is facing in terms of attracting high-quality academic and managerial talents from around the world to work at XMUM.

After hearing the concerns of the university, Mr. Narayanan introduced the Malaysian government’s latest policies regarding the work permits for expatriates. He also offered insightful suggestions for XMUM to more efficiently manage its need for foreign experts.

Both sides recognized the need to strengthen cooperative relations and to work together to effectively implement the relevant government policies.

MYXpats Centre is in charge of processing and issuing all work permits and related documents for expatriates wanting to work in Malaysia. It is a joint initiative between Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) and the Immigration Department of Malaysia, and is overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
