Humanities Forum #3 - The Practice of Singing and Listening of "ci" in the Song Dynasty

In Song dynasty, ci is a kind of music literature, mostly performed in the form of singing. As one of the most precious treasure of the Song culture, ci has its unique literary and artistic feature, distinguishing itself from poetry and other kind of literary and musical genres.

To better understand the fusion of Song's literature and culture, XMUM has invited Professor Zhang Ming from Peking University to talk in the Public Lecture in Humanities with the title The Practice of Singing and Listening of 'ci' in the Song Dynasty.

The public talk will be conducted in Mandarin. The details of the talk are as follows:

Date: 23 May 2018 (Wednesday)
Time: 3.30pm- 5.30pm

Professor Zhang specializes in the teaching and research on History of Chinese Literature. He is currently a professor and a PhD supervisor in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Peking University, as well as one of the main lecturers of the national-level excellent course History of Chinese Literature.
