XMUM Signs MOU with Australian National University on Academic Collaboration


A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and Australian National University (ANU) on 25 April, 2018.

The signing ceremony was conducted during a delegation visit led by Prof. Shirley Leitch, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of ANU, to XMUM. The delegation was warmly welcomed by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang and other members of the university top management team.

The MOU is aimed at facilitating cooperation for the establishment of exchange programmes and collaboration in areas of mutual interest and benefit to both institutions, especially for staff and student mobility.

Prof. Leitch said that she was deeply impressed by XMUM’s fast development and multi-cultural environment and she was glad to build up partnership with XMUM to explore further collaboration.

Both institutions agreed to build up the post-graduate pathway for XMUM students to pursue further study in ANU.

In QS world University Rankings 2018, Australian National University ranks 1st in Australia and 20th in the world.

According to Prof. Yang Xiaoqing, XMUM Director of International Affairs, XMUM is working on expanding the collaboration relationship with the sister universities of XMU, the parent university of XMUM.
