XMUM Wins the Group First Prize at the 2nd International Chinese Proficiency Competition (Singapore and Malaysia)

XMUM students achieved outstanding results at the 2nd International Chinese Proficiency Competition (Singapore and Malaysia) held in May 2017, winning the first prize in international group competition, as well as 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes in individual competition. XMUM team was supervised by Prof. Wang Xiaomei, the programme coordinator of the Department of Chinese Studies.  

The Award Ceremony was held in the evening of 7 April 2018 at SEAMEO Regional English Language Centre in Singapore. Three award winning XMUM students, i.e. Zheng Zixin, Wei Shuhan and Yuan Zihao, attended the ceremony.  

Over the next two days, these three students visited National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technology University (NTU) as well as other Singapore cultural attractions.  

This competition is organized by the Confucius Classroom (Crestar) and HSK Center (Crestar) and supported by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), aiming at encouraging the general public to enhance their Chinese proficiency.   

It is also worth mentioning that an Official Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Center has been established at XMUM and the first test will be held on 10 June 2018.
