Dr. Yang Junjie Awarded 2021 AliResearch Young Academics Project


The Research Management Centre congratulates Dr. Yang Junjie from XMUM School of Economics and Management for being awarded 2021 AliResearch “Huoshui” Young Academics Project.

With the title “Teaching case study - Practical cases, mechanism of action and the promotional value of platform economy in rural vitalization”, this project focuses on the importance of platform economy and analyzes the role of rural e-commerce in rural vitalization.

This year, 2021 AliResearch Young Academics Project received a total of 130 project applications, among which 73 were selected. Other successful applicants are from United Nations World Health Organization, London School of Economics and Political Science, Tsing Hua University, Peking University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc.

Launched by Ali Research Institute in 2009, AliResearch Young Academics Project aims to build a platform to facilitate the collaboration between practitioners and researchers interested in exploring the cases and practices in digital economy ecology. By supporting outstanding researchers to conduct cutting-edge academic research, the Project has promoted high-quality research in the field of digital economy, while influencing the future direction of global economy.

The AliResearch’s 2021 Young Academics Project will continue to roll out important topics in the next 2-3 months. Everyone is welcome to participate. Dr. Yang Junjie is an Assistant Professor at School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). He was jointly trained by Nankai University China and Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and received his PhD degree in Management. Before joining XMUM, he worked as a research fellow at Asian Business Case Centre, Nanyang Technological University. He is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at Center for Belt & Road Economic Development Research, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and Business School of Northwest Normal University.
