6 XMUM Graduates Pass CIMA A-Star Programme


Six fresh graduates from XMUM Accounting Programme have passed the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) A-Star Programme (May 2021 Window), a unique one-exam pathway for high achieving students and graduates to become Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMAs). 

The six high achievers are Qian Jin, Xin Xing, Lee Fong Ying, Wee Li Yue, Law Ke Ying and Kam Shi Zhen.

Open for students and graduates with a CGPA of at least 3.5, A-Star Programme nominees are exempted from 15 out of the 16 exams and only required to sit for the final paper - Strategic Case Study - when complete the CIMA Qualification. They may apply for their membership after 3 years of relevant working experience. The designations entitled to CIMA members are ACMA (Associate Chartered Management Accountant) and CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant).

Many exam key points - including Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting - are covered in our daily courses, said Xin Xing, who will pursue his postgraduate study at Xi'an Jiaotong University this September.

Apart from A-Star Programme, all graduates from XMUM Bachelor of Management in Accounting Programme will be exempted from 11 out of the 16 exams when obtaining CIMA qualifications. XMUM Accounting Programme equip the graduates with both theoretical knowledge and professional competence in the real working environment.
