On 10 May 2021, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) officially signed two Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) in the presence of Prof. Colin Grant, QMUL Vice-Principal (International) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Ying, Assistant President of XMUM.

As one of the UK’s leading research-focused higher education institutions, QMUL is a member of the Russell Group of research universities with roots dating back to 1785. It ranks 41st in the Times University Guide 2021, 68th in the Guardian University Guide 2021 and 114th in the QS World University Rankings 2021.

This partnership encompasses two major areas of collaboration including:

1. Postgraduate Study Progression Pathway

2. Study Abroad Programme

Under these two frameworks, XMUM students will have the opportunity to study abroad at QMUL during or after their undergraduate studies.

Through the Postgraduate Study Progression Pathway, qualified students may apply to study Master’s programmes at QMUL upon the completion of their Bachelor’s degree programmes. This pathway includes a range of subjects and fields, namely Business and Management; Languages, Linguistics and Films; English and Drama; Mathematical Sciences; Electronic Engineering and Computer Sciences; Physics and Astronomy, etc.

Whereas under the Study Abroad Programme, XMUM students may study at QMUL as associate students in the second or third year of their undergraduate studies. It will be an invaluable opportunity for students who wish to expand their horizons and gain international exposure during their undergraduate studies.

With the established partnership, applicants are also eligible to apply for a 10% partner-student tuition fee discount under both areas of collaboration.
