MBA Student Wins Master Thesis Competition Award at IEOM Conference


Research Management Center congratulates MBA student Wong Hak Kenn for winning the 3rd Place in Master Thesis Category at the 11th Annual International Conference held by Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Singapore (IEOM).

Entitled “Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices in Malaysian Non-Manufacturing Sectors”, the research studies the drivers and barriers faced by small and medium-sized enterprises owners and senior managers in the implementation of sustainable supply chain management practices. It was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mehran Doulat (XMUM School of Economics and Management).

This event was held online during 7-11 March 2021, aiming to provide a forum for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and recent developments in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management.

“First of all, I would like to thank my project supervisor (Dr. Mehran Doulat) for his continuous support and guidance. The opportunity to participate in IEOM International Conference is invaluable as it truly expands my horizons in operations management and supply chain. I particularly enjoyed the knowledge sharing and discussion session, which provided an avenue for participants to engage with people from different background and nationality, and see how theory meets practice. The diversity and scope of this conference were truly wide-ranging!”
