XMUM Students Grab First Prize in 10th China E-commerce “Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” Challenge Competition (Fujian Province)


Innovation Center congratulates XMUM students for winning the First Prize in the 10th China E-commerce “Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship” Challenge Competition (Fujian Province), representing Xiamen University together with teams from the main campus.       

This competition was hosted by National E-commerce Innovation Industry-Education Union, China, with the purpose of stimulating entrepreneurial spirits and innovative genes of university students. Since its first launch in 2009, the competition has received massive piles of entries. This year, the Fujian Province competition was held on 25 July 2020 at Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College and has attracted 2,627 teams with more than 10,000 participants from 30 universities across Fujian, China. 

The winning team of four is led by Hou Yiyang (Advertising programme), with team members Chen Chen (Accounting programme), Cai Shuxian (Software Engineering programme) and Kim Sheng Yong (Software Engineering programme). Their project is to build an educational platform for communications between students, and to carry out the “second-classroom” teaching. Before designing the new platform, they have conducted thorough preliminary market research and business environment analysis. The feasibility and preliminary evaluation of the platform’s implementation effect were also included, which grabbed the judges’ attention.
